Softo has created a high-quality platform that allows researchers to share their latest findings, ask other experts questions and debate topics in real-time. Thus, researchers are able to develop and improve treatments, a time-saver that saves lives.

That’s where all the magic happens. Concepts are where sections and consequently CollaCards are created. A Concept might have other concepts under it, generating a tree where the top concepts are more generic and the more specific ones are at the lower levels of the arc.

Originally called “Hypothesis”, a Concept may have a series of sections where researchers are able to add CollaCards: Open questions, Debates and Proof Cards. In those sections, the user can also add images for a better description.

Those are the heart of the platform. Open Questions can be linked to a specific section or to the concept itself, which can be sponsored and analyzed by researchers who vouch for or simply explain their relevance.

debates

Debates are created from a piece of a section. On Debates there are at least two possibilities, each possibility has at least one argument and each argument might have counter-arguments. Researchers are also able to vote for possibilities.

They are also created from a piece of a section to prove it. Proof cards can have images, videos and PDF articles as resources, and, with our integration to PubMed, users can provide links and every piece of PubMed’s information as a resource will be loaded.

Those are the only CollaCards that are not necessarily created when editing a concept. An Ongoing Research card is always linked to an Open Question and it is a means to search for the answer to that Open Question. Each Ongoing Research card can be linked to more than one Open Question.

The most innovative and technically challenging part was navigation since it involves traits of Google Earth and Prezi, a slideshow tool. Such traits were applied in order to make navigation more familiar and interesting for researchers and potential sponsors.
